This is a condensed version of the pilot episode of CHANNELS, created by James Ward Byrkit for David Goyer and A+E Studios

I directed this short film recently, featuring great lighting by DP Nic Sadler.

Jim Byrkit directed this for super cool radio station KCRW, partnering with producer Scott Bryant of Steam. We had zero money, so we did all the post ourselves on a Mac 8100, with film scans from E Film. Many thanks to all those who helped. The spot ran before movies in Laemmle theaters around L.A. and its influence is felt in films like "Watchmen" and other slo-mo epics. We chose the Chemical Brothers song "Spybreak" for the Jason Bentley Metropolis section before the song was released, and it was later used in "The Matrix" which had music supervision by... Jason Bentley!
