FILMAKING INTENSIVE
Spring 2026, Sedona Arizona

Join Filmmaker Jim Byrkit for a transformational
3 day film intensive in the high desert
For three immersive days, award-winning director Jim Byrkit will work with a select 8-10 member cohort group to create meaningful work outside of the traditional studio system. The workshop will be held in Sedona, Arizona, one of the most visually inspiring landscapes in the country. The dramatic high desert landscape provides the backdrop for a deep creative reset.
More than just a film workshop, it’s an immersion built around real experience from a filmmaker with extensive experience from years working in the industry, developing projects and navigating the realities of story building and independent filmmaking. This is a hands-on opportunity for creative adventure, expansion and camaraderie. Participants will leave with a clear vision for their own filmmaking path.

About the course
Jim Byrkit has spent the last three decades a filmmaker, both within the Hollywood system— as a storyboard artist on epics like the original Pirates of The Caribbean trilogy and cowriting (and designing) the Academy Award-winning animated film Rango—and in the independent world, writing and directing the cult sci-fi hit Coherence.
